I-beam

I-beam

I-beam is a long strip of steel with an I-shaped cross section. It is the general term for the steel used in the construction of beams or columns used in structural engineering, also known as I-shaped iron, which is named after the cross-section of the Chinese word "工". According to the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory, this structure is strong in bending and shearing, but poor in torsion.

There are two main types of I-beams. One is coiled steel and the other is flat girder. The coiled steel can be obtained by cold coiling or hot coiling, extrusion coiling. Whereas flat girders can be obtained by welding or covering them with cement.

Steel sections of various shapes and sizes are widely used in the construction industry. The available platforms offer a possibility to select the appropriate profile. H-beams can be used as columns or as beams. The shape of the rails used in railways is also similar to that of I-beams, but because of the rolling and friction of the wheels, the upper part is narrower but thicker, and the lower part is wider and thinner.

The types :
are divided by the steel materials used: I-beams can be rolled with A3F low-carbon steel; there are also rolled steel types such as A5, 15MnV, 16Mn, and l8Nbb.
Divided by different sections: ordinary I-beam, light I-beam and wide-flange I-beam. When the height is the same, the light I-beam has a thinner waist and lighter weight, but has a large bearing capacity. The wide-flange I-beam is also called H-beam, and there is no slope on the inside of the leg.
Divided by production method: I-beams of direct rolling, oblique rolling, straight-inclined mixed rolling and other rolling methods. In recent years, steel plates have been welded into I-beams for construction projects such as bridges.

We provide American standard, British standard, European standard and Japanese standard products (UPN/UPE European standard channel steel, IPN/IPE European standard I-beam, HEA/HEB European standard H-beam, PFC British standard channel steel, G300 Australian standard Channel steel, Australian standard H-beam, SS400 Japanese standard channel steel, Japanese standard angle steel, UB/UC British standard H-beam, A36 American standard channel steel, American standard H-beam, T-beam and other main materials are S235 S275 S355 S355J0 S355JR S355J2 A36 A992 A572GR50 SS400 G300).
